The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is an important stage in the academic journey of Junior High School students in Ghana. The 2026 BECE was conducted from 4th May to 11th May 2026 across the country.
This year, a total of 620,141 candidates registered for the examination, including 619,985 candidates from Ghana and 156 candidates from schools in Togo and Benin. The Ghana candidature consisted of 304,273 males and 315,712 females from over 20,390 schools nationwide.
Historically, WAEC usually releases BECE results around 90 days after the final paper. Since the 2026 BECE ended on 11th May 2026, the 90-day mark falls around 9th August 2026. Based on previous release timelines and current expectations, the BECE 2026 results are expected between 7th August and 11th August 2026.
While this is an anticipated window, it is still subject to adjustment due to marking, validation processes, technical reviews, public holidays, or other administrative procedures by WAEC. Candidates and guardians should continue monitoring credible sources for confirmed announcements.

After checking your results, candidates can proceed with the Senior High School placement process under the CSSPS system. Students are encouraged to stay calm and hopeful regardless of their performance, as there are multiple placement opportunities available.
BECE subjects are graded from 1 as the highest to 9 as the lowest. SHS placement decisions are based on aggregate scores, school choices, programme choices, available vacancies, and other placement guidelines rather than a single fixed pass mark.
